Extra height is created in the crown area by gently back combing small sections of hair before pulling all the hair back into a low chignon.

 

Hair is twisted into a chignon and pinned in place with hair pins.  Front bangs partially drape across the face from a deep side part.

 

Add stunning earrings to this look, and maybe a jeweled tiara and you will look great for the prom in this style.
